
WAUTOMA, Wis (WAUH)- The pursuit of a fleeing vehicle in Waupaca County Monday resulted in damage to Waupaca Police and Sheriff’s Department vehicles and the suspect crashing into a tree.
The chase originated in Outagamie County with a state trooper trying to catch the suspect’s vehicle which was going over 100 miles an hour. Flock cameras picked up the vehicle in the Waupaca area.
A deputy and Waupaca police officer tried to make contact with the suspect’s vehicle which intentionally rammed both of their squads. A Sheriff’s Sergeant continued the pursuit for another half a mile in the City of Waupaca when the suspect crashed into a tree and stopped just short of striking a house.
The 37-year-old Menasha man was taken into custody on numerous criminal violations after receiving medical treatment. Those charges included a 5th OWI offense, 1st degree recklessly endangering safety and more.
