Oshkosh Chamber Singers Present Lessons and Carols

WAUTOMA, Wis (WAUH)- “A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols,” an Oshkosh tradition for 35 consecutive years, will be presented Saturday, Dec. 20, by the Oshkosh Chamber Singers.

Two performances will be presented at 2 and 5 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, Algoma Boulevard at Division Street.

Accompanied by pipe organ and brass ensemble, the Oshkosh Chamber Singers will join with members of the community in song and Scripture readings celebrating the Advent and Christmas story. Musical selections will include traditional carols; and works by classical and contemporary composers, including selections by Dan Forrest, John Rutter and Randall Thompson; and “In Dulci Jubilo,” by Matthew Culloton; “O Nata Lux,” by Morton Lauridsen; and “My Lord Has Come,” by Will Todd.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students. They are available from singers; at Heid Music, 1750 W. South Park Ave.; Gardina’s, 448 N. Main St.; or at the door.

Herb Berendsen is the conductor Jared Stellmacher is the organist.

A brass quintet will feature Mike Henckel and Marty Robinson, trumpet; Bruce Atwell, horn; Matthew Bragstad, trombone; and Eric High, bass trombone.

The song “Tomorrow Shall be May Dancing Day” will feature Ben Mackie, tambourine, and Ryan Lindley, snare drum; and “Carol of the Magi” will feature Laura Deming, cello.

The spring concert, “The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass” with Monroe Crossing, will be presented Sunday, May 17, 2026. More information is available at oshkoshchambersingers.org or by calling 920-312-8290.
