RIPON, Wis (WRPN)-Ripon hosts Christmas in the Village today and tomorrow in the downtown historic district on Watson Street. Locally owned shops will be offering extended hours throughout the event.
The celebration begins this evening when Santa makes his grand entrance at approximately 6 pm. Santa says his reindeer drop him off on a rooftop and the firefighters are kind enough to supply him with a ride to the Village Green. He will light the decorations at the bandstand, and greet children along with those young at heart from 6 to 8 pm.
Santa returns to the Village Green Saturday morning, from 11 am to 1 pm for more meet-and-greet opportunities.
Christmas in the Village Saturday also features an ice sculpting demonstration on The Square from 11 am to 1 pm, a live reindeer display at the Village Green from 12 to 4 pm, and carriage rides through the downtown historic district from 2 to 4 pm.
The carriage pick-up and drop-off will take place at the corner of Watson and West Fond du Lac Street.
